Gamescom 2025 - A Look Back at an Inspiring Event

Gamescom 2025 was a truly special experience for us at Foxira Games … our first major event as a studio. From the moment we stepped into the halls, the energy, creativity, and passion of the games community were palpable, even in these challenging times for the industry.

Despite the difficulties many studios are facing, this year's Gamescom sent a strong signal: With around 1,500 exhibitors and 357,000 visitors, the show exceeded last year's numbers and came close to the all-time record of 370,000 attendees set in 2019 (Official numbers).

Variety & Highlights

Gamescom once again showcased a stunning mix of AAA productions and indie gems. From massive booths like World of Warcraft, Anno 117, Resident Evil, and Endfield to the charming stands of the Indie Arena Booth, there were countless opportunities for inspiration and conversation.

We also discovered some impressive projects outside the Indie Arena … among them Project ReMind by Red Hog Studio (Hall 10.1), which stood out to us with its atmosphere and concept.

Retro Area & Nostalgia

A personal highlight was the Retro Area, where we immersed ourselves in gaming history. In addition to lovingly presented classics, there were exciting innovations like the upcoming Mini Vectrex and new titles for old platforms. We'll especially remember the Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary competition … full of fun and nostalgia, where we even managed to take second place.

Our Takeaway

For us as a young studio, this year's Gamescom was a milestone: a chance to be inspired, connect with fellow developers, and dive deeper into the industry. The conversations, impressions, and ideas we've gathered will guide us on our journey with Lepusona.

Looking Ahead

The next chapter is already on the horizon: We're planning to have our own booth at Gamescom 2026, and we can't wait to share our vision of music, emotions, and German myths with the world.
